Old School

A few pictures from our year in Slovakia. This was one of the ways I kept myself busy- the entrance to Emilia's house. The wood came from the forest behind the village, the roofing had been sitting in the backyard for the last 20 years.

One more of Pani Kuba. A WW2 veteran and great admirer of Emilia (Silvia's Mother).

Mr. Kuba watches patiently as a man  less then half his age manages to do half the work in twice the time. I have blisters on my fingers almost immediately.

Ballard Kitchen Remodel

Sometimes I kick myself for not taking the before pictures. Just try to imagine the kitchen cabinets painted orange. Most of the original cabinetry is original with new doors and drawers.  The kitchen nook is entirely new.

This was fun. Sometimes its a shame to cover an interesting structural element-it's hidden under the skin.
